Topic Our Commitment
E-Mail: Answer all emails and phone calls within 24 hours.
Course Enrollment: Place all candidates into their course within 24 hours of signing up for the course. (Exception is around the end of a term where there is a 7-day period where candidates will be placed into the new term and still not have access until the term starts)
Grading: All grading of all assignments will be done within 4 days of the assignment being submitted. (Exception is Practicum videos which take 1 week)
Grading Comments: All assignments which take candidates more than 10 minutes to complete, the instructor is expected to add comments to their grade.
Instructor Availability: All instructors are expected to be available for scheduling one-on-one meetings with candidates either via phone or a video conference.
Course Completion: Candidates are expected to complete all course content. All course content has been screened for direct relevance to candidate’s certification. Therefore, all content is needed to be completed to have a final grade on the course.
Assignment Quality: Candidates are expected to complete assignments at a high-quality level. Any assignment that does not meet the goals of the assignment will be returned to the candidate to complete correctly with no grade penalty. The goal is that all course work demonstrates learning at a level ready for being taught.
Quality Instructors: Our commitment is to have current practicing instructors teaching the classroom content. This commitment is to keep our content current, relevant, and matching the current practices in the classroom. All instructors MUST be CTE Certified and are preferred to hold a CTE Director Certificate.
Projects: Candidates come to us with diverse backgrounds and needs. This requires flexibility in what is acceptable for all projects. All work is acceptable as long as it shows understanding of the standards we are assessing.
Timeliness: Time is everyone’s most precious commodity. We will provide as much flexibility in timelines as we can for our candidates. Candidates will receive at least 15 months and four separate reminders to complete the work for their course. Understanding that teaching, family, and outside obligations often require a candidate’s attention, we will work with their time schedule in any way we can to help and support their learning.
Resources: Candidates have diverse needs for their learning. Support will be provided for all needs including providing computers, one-on-one coaching, and access to free resources that will support their learning.
Model Projects: To help candidates better understand their expectations, all projects in all courses will have exemplar examples of the expectations for the project.
Project Choice: As often as possible, offer candidate choice in how they demonstrate learning. This will give candidates the ability to demonstrate learning through a variety of mediums including: video, written, graphics, or various software tools they may be comfortable using.
