The purposes of the NEWESD Board of Directors, hereafter referred to as the Board, are to meet the requirements as prescribed by law and to advise the Superintendent in administering the NEWESD. Our goal in developing and adopting policy is to provide quality programs and services that assure equal educational opportunity for students. In developing and implementing these policies, we seek the cooperative effort of NEWESD staff and the educational community.
It shall be the philosophy of NEWESD to assist the State Board of Education and the Superintendent of Public Instruction in the performance of their duties and to serve schools in a cooperative effort to promote equal educational opportunity. We realize that a better education for all will give us more hope for a peaceful world and help meet the challenge of a changing and more complicated life. We believe that this can only be accomplished when every child, regardless of where that child lives, has the benefits of an adequate and comprehensive program of educational services. To that end we shall endeavor to cooperatively assist in establishing provisions for supplementary services, cooperatives and consultation, which are responsive to community and school needs.

If any provision of the Board Policy or its application to any person or circumstance is held invalid, the remainder or the application to other persons or circumstances is not affected.
