Spokane County Juvenile Detention Center School

Spokane County Juvenile Detention Center is a maximum security facility housing up to 65 youth. Students, though enrolled in school for a relatively short time, are given a chance to increase their knowledge and skills in basic education subjects, which include math, language arts, health and life skills provided through an individualized approach. The school program operates with four classrooms and offers a core curriculum in: Language Arts, Math, Health/Science, Life Skills/Job Readiness, Geography and a Computer Literacy class. Elective class curriculum may include: Law Related Education, GED prep. and Character Education. An Education Advocate assists with student transition from the detention school back to their community school.
