School Counseling Program

The Center for Student Support Services placed elementary school counselors at seven rural schools in Lincoln and Whitman counties through federal grant funding. Because of those efforts, NEWESD 101 chose to continue this work through a cooperative model that allows schools/districts to "buy" school counselor time. Counselors rely on the American School Counselor Association (ASCA) national model to guide their work and much of their focus is grounded in trauma informed training.
