School Improvement Support

NEWESD 101 personnel in consultation with the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) are dedicated to assisting all regional districts in improving the performance of eligible special education students on the Smarter Balanced State Assessment and Washington Alternate Assessment -- WA-AIM. We are equally focused on helping districts to increase the number of eligible students graduating high school with a regular diploma and to decrease the dropout rates of special education students when compared to their non-eligible peers.

To meet these goals, the Center offers services and technical assistance to local school districts and building staff including: OSPI LiaisonAnalysis of Smarter Balanced/WA-AIMIDEA 2004 legislation and compliance; and Pre-and post-school transition services.
