Early Support for Infants and Toddlers (ESIT)

Providing supportive, coordinated early intervention services for children with disabilities or developmental delays, from birth to age three, who reside in Ferry, Lincoln, Stevens, and Pend Oreille counties.

NEWESD 101 is the local lead agency in Ferry, Stevens, Pend Oreille, and Lincoln Counties for supporting children with disabilities or developmental delays, from birth to age three. 

A child residing in these counties is eligible for early intervention services when:
- A professional assessment has determined he/she has a 25% or more developmental delay for his/her age, or
- When he/she has a diagnosed physical or mental condition, such as hearing loss, vision impairment, Down Syndrome, neurological disorder, with a high probability it may result in delayed development, or
- When he/she has a 1.5 standard deviation below his/her age in one or more developmental areas.

DISTRICT SUPPORT
Districts are assisted in establishing inclusive community preschools, as well as early intervention services for developmentally delayed children, birth through five years of age. Our staff provides technical assistance and support in early learning and inclusion practices. Additional support is provided in the area of regional data collection and documentation to meet OSPI requirements, including Early Childhood Outcomes reporting and Child Find activities.
