Novice Special Education Cadre 2026

Novice Special Education Cadre Builds Confidence, Connection at NEWESD 101
Posted on 01/28/2026
On January 27, NEWESD 101 welcomed educators to the Talbott Event Center for a gathering of the Novice Special Education Cadre, a professional learning series designed to support staff who are newer to special education roles.

Special education work is complex, fast-moving, and deeply student-centered. The Novice Special Education Cadre creates a space where participants can build confidence and capacity through practical learning, shared problem-solving, and a network of peers who understand the day-to-day demands of the job.

The cadre is led by Regional Project Coordinator Dianna Harrington and Special Education Coordinator Jaime Taylor, who guide sessions focused on strengthening foundational knowledge, clarifying processes, and supporting consistent practices that help teams serve students well.

NEWESD 101 is proud to support special education educators across our region through training and collaboration opportunities like this cadre, which helps participants learn together, ask questions, and take next steps with support.
