On Friday, May 16, district and school leaders from across northeast Washington gathered at NEWESD 101’s Talbott Event Center for the Multilingual Directors Workshop, an in-person event focused on connection, collaboration and actionable strategies to support multilingual learners (MLs).
The workshop offered participants the opportunity to network and engage in timely discussions around key topics, including:
*Promoting asset-based mindsets for multilingual learners
*Strengthening instructional programs through content, language, and literacy integration
*Supporting educators with progress monitoring, program evaluation, and data use
*Building stronger engagement with multilingual students and families
The event was a success, with strong regional turnout and robust conversations that highlighted the shared commitment to equity and excellence in multilingual education.
