At Lakeside High School in northeast Washington, students, staff and colleagues describe Dr. Brent Osborn as a leader who believes deeply in students and helps them believe in themselves. Earlier this school year Dr. Osborn was named 2026 Washington State Secondary Principal of the Year by the Association of Washington School Principals (AWSP). Through authentic relationships, high expectations and a steady presence across campus, Dr. Osborn has helped build a school culture where students are encouraged to grow, take ownership of their futures and “choose hard.”

From hallways and classrooms to graduation planning and extracurricular events, Dr. Osborn is known for showing up for students and supporting their goals. In the video, created by AWSP, students and staff share how his leadership has helped them feel seen, challenged and capable of more.
