The Palouse School District is seeking a part-time superintendent to help lead a small, rural district rooted in strong community support and local pride. District leaders are looking for someone who understands the unique needs of rural schools, values collaboration, and is ready to support student learning, staff, and continued district growth. Located in Whitman County, Palouse serves about 180 students in grades PK-12. Through the Garfield-Palouse Cooperative, the district partners with Garfield School District to expand local opportunities while maintaining strong connections to its hometown schools.
This is a 0.5 FTE, 130-day position with a salary range of $75,000-$85,000. The successful candidate will ideally bring experience in school leadership, knowledge of rural district operations, strong communication skills, and a commitment to working closely with families, staff, and the community.
Applications are due March 20, 2026. The selected superintendent is expected to begin July 1, 2026. Application materials include a cover letter, current resume, three current letters of reference, and a copy of an administrator certificate or proof of eligibility.
