Ever wondered where the food on your plate comes from? Join NEWESD 101's School Nutrition Cooperative and Farm to School team in celebrating Taste Washington Day on October 2 and National Farm to School Month throughout October! This is the perfect time to recognize our local farmers and the dedicated school nutrition heroes who work together to bring fresh, healthy food to students across our region.
On Taste Washington Day, schools will feature delicious, locally grown lunches, giving students a chance to enjoy seasonal produce straight from Washington farms. Along with the farm-fresh menu, students can participate in fun activities to learn about the importance of supporting local agriculture and healthy eating.

National Farm to School Month is an opportunity to raise awareness of the Farm to School movement, which connects children to fresh food, educates them about nutrition, and supports local farmers.
For additional information and resources, including how to get involved in the movement, visit the National Farm to School Network at www.farmtoschool.org to explore toolkits, recipes, and success stories from schools nationwide.
Celebrate with us and support healthier students and stronger communities through local food!
