Leon Covington honored

Leon Covington, left, threat assessment coordinator at NEWESD 101, has received a national Thriving School award from Kaiser Permanente for his work promoting healthy school environments.

He was presented the award by KP Vice President Kelly S. Stanford, right, during the January meeting of the Northeast Washington Association of School Administrators.

Together with colleague Alise Mnati, Covington assists districts with early detection, assessment and management of threats jeopardizing school safety.
