Valley School District invites qualified candidates to apply for Superintendent. The district is located in Valley, Washington, a small rural community with a big heart, situated 40 miles north of Spokane and surrounded by abundant outdoor recreation.

Valley School District serves students across multiple programs designed to meet the needs of diverse learners and family choices, including Early Learning and Alternative Learning options.

What the next superintendent will do
The successful candidate will be expected to become an active and engaged member of the Valley community and will be asked to:
Build upon the shared vision and continue strategic plan work over the next 3–5 years
Support innovative educational practices, including Early Learning and ALE, that meet diverse learner needs
Lead with an open, collaborative style that fosters teamwork and shared commitment
Demonstrate the ability to lead a complex, goal-focused organization with accountability for results
Show familiarity with school law, finance, curriculum, student discipline, district improvement, and the legislative process
Continue prudent fiscal management and advocate effectively with elected officials for ample school funding
Lead the opening of a new Valley Early Learning Center building to increase capacity and support future growth
Compensation
The board will negotiate a multi-year contract with a salary range of $160,000–$170,000, and an appropriate benefits package will be provided.
