NEWESD 101 Student Support Services staff Rick Jones, Shani Codr, and Reece Bauer recently attended the National Hope Squad Advisor’s Conference in Texas, joining educators and mental health leaders from across the country to strengthen suicide prevention efforts in schools.
This event equips Hope Squad advisors with tools and strategies to help students recognize warning signs, support peers in crisis, and foster cultures of hope and belonging. Rick, Shani, and Reece are bringing this valuable knowledge back to northeast Washington, where they continue to offer guidance, training, and encouragement to local Hope Squads and school-based teams focused on student wellness.
Their commitment reflects NEWESD 101’s ongoing dedication to creating safe, supportive learning environments where every student feels seen, heard, and valued.
