Parent / School Warning System

Educational Service District 101’s Information Technology department is pleased
to present the Parent / School Warning System (P/SWS).
P/SWS is designed to integrate existing school information management systems
with advanced communication capabilities.

Current Alerts |
When a situation arises, our system
can contact multiple devices, including telephones (work and home), cell phones,
PDAs, email devices, and pagers.
The current system is extremely powerful delivering up to 100,000 phone calls
every 15 minutes.
Background
The
Parent / School Warning System started in 2004 as a media
notification pilot project called C.O.L.D.
(Closures and Outages for Local Districts).
Our goal was to automate the process of notifying area
media when schools were to be closed or delayed due to weather.
Full Deployment is
the highest level of service available and can contact parents
directly along with staff, media and others.
All service levels use a simple and secure Web interface
or can be activated by calling a toll-free number.
Partnership
The
success of our pilot project led us to evaluate expanded
services to allow for integration with city, county and regional
notification systems. We
only work with industry leaders that have a demonstrated history of strong leadership in technology
and security. Through
this process, we are
developing collaborative services that meet the needs of school
districts and communities in
Washington state.
Integration with existing school information systems and safety
awareness is the focus.

Washington schools with support for K20 data and video networks
along with in-district support.
Our department is a technology leader that creates
standards and provides innovative, cost effective solutions.
We also have other services including: web hosting and
site design, telephone system deployment and security
management.
We are
the “first point-of-contact” and are focused on quality services
to schools.
