IRC Roundtable Interest Survey
One of the IRC Cooperative member services is to provide opportunities for networking and mini-training sessions or what we're calling "Roundtables." In order to best meet your needs during these sessions, we'd like to hear from you. is making a few more changes!
Beginning with the 2006-2007 academic year, the IRC will transition to online, subscription-based instructional media resources only. We will no longer distribute videotapes or DVDs, and our current collection, as well as the online database, will be discontinued as of June 30, 2006. The IRC membership fee structure has also been reconfigured to better reflect the consortium pricing we've secured with the various online providers and districts have several options to choose from.
The Basic Membership Fee is based on district student FTE and includes access to the online research database from ProQuest, which includes eLibrary and eLibrary Elementary, and CultureGrams Online, with text, audio and video on countries around the world.
Continuing Cooperative members who also subscribe to select online video content will have the basic membership fee waived for the 2006-2007 academic year.
0-100 FTE........................ $150
101-1,200 FTE................. $350
1,201-5,000 FTE.............. $450
5,001-15,000 FTE............ $650
Over 15,000 FTE........... $1,000
Online Media Content
Districts may add to their basic services by selecting content from one or more of the options below. If you are a continuing IRC member, you will also receive the Basic Membership services, listed above, as a part of Option A.1, B.1 or B.2. Continuing districts who select Option A.2 will also need to pay the Basic Membership fee.
Option A: PowerMedia Plus
• A.1: Entire district subscription................................. $0.70 per FTE
• A.2: Single-building(s) subscription........................... $1.00 per FTE
This option is a good choice for districts who would like to explore the use of online video, audio, images, and quizzes within a lesson framework, or have limited funding for media resources.
Regular Pricing Comparison: $1,495 per high school bldg, $995 per K-8 building
Option B: unitedstreaming/Discovery Education
• B.1: Single-building district with under 100 students.............. $500
• B.2: All others.................................................... per building $750
This is a more robust collection of online videos, images, and curricular resources.
