questions drawn from secondary curriculum areas including math, science,
history, language, literature, music and geography. Current events and
topics of general interest also are included.
Earlier, the same teams competed in a regional event sponsored by ESD
101 and hosted by Whitworth University’s Center for Gifted Education.
The regional event drew 36 teams competing for places in the state
tournament. Top finishers in the regional competition, all qualifying
for the state finals, were:
- 4A – Central Valley, Shadle Park, Mead.
- 3A – Mt. Spokane.
- 2A – Pullman, Cheney.
- 1A – Lakeside, Freeman, Jenkins.
- 2B – Saint George’s, Reardan-Edwall, Valley
