  • College Spark conquers math hurdles

    Three regional high schools are successfully tackling a problem that has long plagued most high schools in the state: college math placement scores. 

    Thanks to a grant from College Spark Washington, the Curlew, Northport and Republic school districts are seeing impressive improvement in Compass exam scores, with more students placing into credit-bearing college math classes. More

    Ken Moore The NEWESD 101 region has lost a veritable legend. Ken Moore, patriarch of the regional Knowledge Bowl competition, has passed away at 90.
    Moore worked more than half-century in local education as a teacher and, following retirement, regional Knowledge Bowl coordinator. Links:
