An ongoing countdown of things you may not know about NEWESD 101, the region’s schools, people, history and geography.

Fact: Unlike local school districts, which receive the majority of their funding directly from the state, ESDs are largely self-supporting organizations sustained by grants, cooperatives and fees for services. State “core” funding makes up only about 4 percent of the NEWESD 101 budget.
