Program overview...
ESD 101's Technology Services division supports a wide range of programs and services.
In the area of network services and support, we offer membership in the Network Services Cooperative. There are currently 48 member districts, some subscribing to the basic remote and phone support (Level 1) while others receive a higher level of hands-on, on-site support (Level 2).
Our programs also include the Educational Technology Support Center(ETSC) that assists districts with technology planning, general E-Rate information, professional development, technology integration assistance and more. The ETSC is a statewide, collaborative program of all nine ESDs. To help districts with media services, we support an Instructional Resources Cooperative that provides access to the statewide ProQuest, eLibrary and CultureGrams databases. Districts also have the option to subscribe to online streaming video libraries from either Discovery Education's streaming media (formerly unitedstreaming), PowerMedia Plus or Learn 360's library. These are provided at substantial discounts to regular educational pricing.
Through a grant from OSPI, the ESD's Regional IT Unit also supports district data and video access to the statewide K20 network, free of charge. This includes training, installation of primary equipment and troubleshooting for videoconferences and K20 network connectivity.
District Web presence is becoming more and more critical as a communications tool with parents and the community. ESD 101's Technology Services provides suppport and regional training for Schoolwires hosted Web services and has arranged for a pilot, small schools purchase program to provide an economical option for districts under 1,000 student FTE. The Technology Services department also manages the Honeywell Instant Alert emergency notificaiton system for participating districts. Keep everyone updated on weather-related school closures, facilities issues or a sports bus that's returning a little late! | ..... | Partner highlights...
